Notifying a public school that you want them to register your child as a homeschooler
This is a suggested template for notifying a public school that you want them to register your child as a homeschooler, as per sections 12/13 of the School Act.
You can send this template as an email or letter to the school Principal and cc to the Vice Principal and the school secretary.
NOTES:
This template is not for enrolling in an Online Learning program, or any of the transitional/remote models that school districts are creating to deal with the pandemic.
If you are already enrolled with the school, they will have your information and will only need to record your child in a different column on their 1701 form. However, if you are NOT already enrolled with the school in question, they will need basic information and ID like birth certificate and proof of BC residency.
